Chhimeki Lodge in Dhoksan, near Nagarkot, is a unique community project in the heart of Nepal. “Chhimeki” means “neighborhood” – and that’s exactly what you’ll experience here: vibrant village life, authentic Nepali culture, and warm hospitality.Located about one hour’s drive from Kathmandu Airport, the lodge sits on a ridge with breathtaking views of the Himalayas. It offers two comfortable guest rooms with private bathrooms, a shared panoramic terrace, and a kitchen.A portion of every stay directly supports local community projects, helping to fund essential needs in the village. Built together with local residents from sustainable, locally sourced materials, the lodge showcases traditional building methods and invites you to discover authentic Nepali life.

The lodge features two beautiful bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom - perfect for comfort and privacy.The rooms are designed in a unique, cozy style, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Each bedroom is carefully built from clay, creating not only a natural indoor climate but also highlighting the distinctive charm of the space.
Here, you’ll experience an ambiance that perfectly blends relaxation, style, and comfort.The lodge can be booked either by two couples traveling together or by a single couple. If you are a couple traveling alone and would like the lodge entirely to yourselves, please indicate this in your booking request—we will gladly accommodate your preference. For solo travelers hoping for exciting encounters with other guests, this is of course also possible, offering a chance to meet fellow adventurers during your stay.

Our lodge offers a variety of inviting communal areas designed for relaxation and connection.
You can unwind in the charming shared courtyard, soak in the views from the communal terrace, or make use of the fully equipped kitchen. Here, you can either prepare your own snacks and drinks or our staff delights in creating exquisite local meals and hosting interactive cooking events that bring the flavors of the region to life.

STAY & CONNECT

Once you check in to our lodge, you’re not just lodging in a spectacular and unique building - you’re actively supporting the village’s very own "Chhimeki Cooperative".
A portion of your booking fee goes directly to the cooperative, helping the community fund shared projects such as a school bus for local children, teachers’ salaries or other essential initiatives.Your stay also opens the door to authentic connections with the local people. Join guided hikes, take part in traditional ceremonies and celebrations, learn local crafts, cook alongside villagers, or simply enjoy getting to know the community. Every moment here becomes a meaningful exchange, enriching your experience while supporting the life and growth of the village.

Who is hosting you?

The lodge is operated by the local village community, the "Chhimeki Cooperative" and is supported by the German association "Chhimeki Friends e.V.", which emerged from the non-profit architecture organization Supertecture.In 2018, together with the local population in the Nepali mountain village of Dokhsan, we began our project to plan and implement a non-profit lodge. Our goal was to create a sustainable building using locally available materials, which would be run as a hotel by the village community.
The association consists of participants in the lodge project "Chhimeki Lodge" and serves the purpose of ensuring the lodge’s successful operation in the long term, while supporting the community.
